Dublin Veterinary Hospital

Hospital Policies

We have formulated our hospital policies to allow us to serve all of our patients in an efficient, timely, and organized manner. Each policy is important to us either because it allows us to deliver excellent service to our clients, or because it allows us to ensure that our pet patients feel comfortable and safe.

Appointment Policy

In order to serve as many patients as possible at times which are convenient for each patron, we operate with a scheduled appointment model.

Please call in advance to schedule an appointment with our courteous and professional front office staff. The further in advance you schedule, the more likely that your preferred time slot will be open. Of course, we will always do our best to accommodate you to the best of our abilities.

If your pet has a medical emergency during our open office hours, please try and call us on the way to the clinic as soon as you can. This will give a chance to move our schedule around, and assist you as soon as you arrive. If your pet needs urgent care after our normal business hours, please refer to the emergency location nearest you on our Emergencies page.

Arrival Policy

We ask that all pet patients are restrained while awaiting their appointments. This can mean either that they are leashed or crated. No matter how well trained a dog or cat may be, we firmly believe this policy is in the best interest of all parties involved for safety reasons.

If you suspect your pet has possibly contracted a contagious disease, such as kennel cough, please try and let us know so we can make special accommodations and prevent the spread of disease.

Cancellation/No Show Policy

Cancellation/No Show Policy for Appointments

We understand there are times when you must miss an appointment due to and emergency or family/work obligations. We respectfully request 24 hours advanced notice to cancel an appointment. When you do not call to cancel an appointment, you may be preventing another patient from receiving much needed treatment.

Repeated failures to cancel appointments within the requested time frame will result in a $25 non-refundable deposit to schedule appointments in the future.

Scheduled Appointments

We understand that delays can happen, however we must try to keep the veterinarian and other patients on time. If you arrive 10 minutes past your scheduled time, we will have to reschedule your appointment for another day and time.

Cancellation/No Show Policy for Surgery

Due to the large block of time needed for surgery, last minute cancellations can cause problems and added expense for the office.

If surgery is not cancelled at least 3 days in advance, you will be charged a $100 non-refundable fee to reschedule the surgery.

All Specialist surgeries require a $500 non-refundable deposit to schedule.
